We started the day with a big breakfast at the hotel before heading to Walt Disney World.
We parked at the Polynesian and then took the monorail to the Grand Floridian to check out their awesome gingerbread house-- the kids were very impressed! We continued around the loop and got back off at the Polynesian for a quick lunch at Capt. Cooks.
We LOVE the monorail! After lunch, it was back to the monorail for a quick ride to the Magic Kingdom for Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party!
The Magic Kingdom does a flag retreat ceremony every day around 5p and even though we've been MANY times, we'd never seen the ceremony. Since it was Veteran's Day, we joined hundreds of active duty troops, veterans and patriots in a very moving ceremony.
God Bless America
Since there was taping going on for the Disney holiday specials during the day, the afternoon parade was pushed to 5pm which meant we could see it! After flag retreat, we staked out spots for the Festival of Fantasy parade.
Dusk in the Magic Kingdom
Is it coming yet?? Look, princesses!!!!
A lost boy, Tinkerbell, and that crazy crocodile.
Prince Philip
The Maleficent float was one of the favorites!
Festival of Fantasy
After the parade, it was time for rides-- and we started with Ellie's favorite, the Peoplemover!
The cookie breaks are one of the kids' favorite parts about the Christmas Party. This year, each cookie and cocoa station had a different kind of cookie! The overwhelming favorites were the peppermint cookies in Tomorrowland and the blue snowcones in Fantasyland.
Riding Dumbo in the dark
I 💕Cinderella Castle-- especially with the dream lights.
Since we attended two MVMCP's on this trip, we decided to use the first one to see the parades and fireworks and the second to do rides. It was fun taking the time to soak up the ambiance of the party and just enjoy being there without rushing from ride to ride.
Sweet girls.
Ellie is convinced that this is HER castle and she's going to live in it when she grows up.
We spent some time lounging on the hub grass while we waited for the fireworks to start.
The kids had a ball dancing while we waited since no one else was in the reserved FP+ section (they don't offer FP+ during the party).
Holiday Wishes
"Christmas really is all around us, And the best part is the spirit of the season never has to end, As long as you keep your loved ones near and the holiday wish in your heart."
After the fireworks we headed to Main Street to catch Mickey's Once Upon A Christmastime parade. The kids LOVED the snow falling on Main Street!
Snow falling on Main Street
The kids thought it was hilarious that the snow (also known as "snoap" since it's made from soap bubbles) would stick in their hair.
Jacob and Christopher ran over to Casey's to get hotdogs for everyone for dinner while we waited for the parade.
Waiting for the parade.
Mickey's Once Upon a Christmastime Parade
It's Mickey and Minnie!!
She was so excited to see the characters from Frozen and waved and yelled "hi" to each one.
Once Upon a Christmastime
Cinderella and Prince Charming
Belle!! Ellie was SOOOO excited to see her!
Once Upon a Christmastime
The toy soldiers-- the absolute BEST part of the parade!
The reindeer and Santa wrap up what I think is the best parade at Walt Disney World!
After the parade we decided to get our picture taken with the talking Mickey on Main Street-- the kids thought it was hilarious that he talked to them!
By the time we said goodbye to Mickey, the park was closed so we headed to the car. Such a fun day at the Magic Kingdom!!
