This month started with our dogwoods blooming and Miss Ellie turning FIVE months old! She is the happiest baby and loves interacting with her brothers and sister, trying to make them laugh as much as she does.
Lexie used some of her birthday money to get rollerblades. She was VERY nervous trying them out for the first time and insisted that she needed to start in the grass in order to learn how to balance.
Before long, she was rollerblading (and falling) like a pro!
We celebrated Easter with just our family of seven this year. The kids slept until about 8am and then we all headed downstairs to do Easter baskets and hunt for eggs.
The kids all got new beach towels and outdoor toys/sprinklers in their baskets this year. The Easter Bunny must have been anticipating the warmer weather headed our way! :)
The kids hunted for eggs all over downstairs until they found them all, except one, because that darn Bunny hid it so well. It took a few weeks for them to find the last one-- makes me happy that they were hunting for plastic eggs and not real ones!! After our hunting, everyone got ready for church and we were on our way!
Instead of going out of town for Spring Break this year, we decided to do some fun things in our part of town. We packed a delicious picnic lunch and went to Jetton Park one afternoon.
Everything was blooming which made the lake even more beautiful!
We went for a walk around the park and Ellie thought it would be the perfect time for a nap.
We found the playground and Ben impressed us all with his monkey bar skills.
And Ellie went in the swing for the first time!
Sweethearts.
We went to the Duke Energy Explorium to learn all about electricity and nuclear energy.
We went for a nature walk around Lake Norman.
We put our Easter stuff to good use and played in the sprinklers.
A lot!!
We even brought Ellie's jumper out so she could join in the fun, too!!
Fun with water guns!
Ben got a pair of rollerblades as an early birthday gift so that he could rollerblade with Nick and Lexie! He spent a lot of time falling down before he figured out how to rollerblade.
The kids spent lots of time rollerblading during Spring Break because we had such beautiful weather.
Ben turned SEVEN this year-- where does the time go?! He was all smiles while he opened his presents. :)
Sweet and silly kids.
Happy Birthday, Sweet Benner!!
Rollerblading all day, every day.....
